About us

The concept of SME Connect was conceived by Cheshire based businesswoman and entrepreneur Andrea McMahon, who along with fellow entrepreneurs Julian Llewellyn and Ed Van Den Berg, launched SME Connect to provide a platform for SMEs within the North West region for business leaders to access tips and advice covering a range of core business functions in a professional yet friendly environment. It combines this advisory service with a high quality networking opportunity - exclusively for business leaders and entrepreneurs within the North West.

"We strongly believe that SME Connect provides a refreshing and unique opportunity to business owners, managing directors, business leaders and entrepreneurs across the region, by giving them access to a professional tips and advice forum, covering a wide range of core business functions," explains Andrea. "Furthermore, our events provide the perfect networking opportunity, where fellow business leaders and entrepreneurs can enjoy a sociable chat in a friendly environment over a glass of wine – whilst enjoying the fantastic views from the spectacular RBS building in Manchester city centre's Spinningfields district."

All SME partners have extensive experience within their respective fields and understand the issues faced by SMEs in business today. It is their commitment to making a difference to businesses by helping them to achieve growth that has brought the concept of SME Connect to life.

Having identified suitable partners and speakers to complement the team and secured sponsorship by the Royal Bank of Scotland Group, SME Connect launched its first event in October 2008.
